⚠️ Suikoden 2 True Ending Requirements — The 3-Step Checklist
Three conditions must all be met, in order:
Step 1 — All 108 Stars before Rockaxe
Confirm at the Stone Tablet of Promise at HQ (where Luc stands). If Leknaat appears in the Rockaxe pre-battle scene, you qualify. If she doesn’t, you’ve missed a Star or lost one in a War Battle.
Step 2 — Save Nanami at Rockaxe
- Equip Nanami with 121+ DEF (head + body armor before the siege — aim for 150+ as a safety margin)
- When the arrow scene triggers, respond to the prompt in approximately 1 second — mash confirm immediately
- Verification cue: Dr. Huan privately calls Shu into the room afterward. If that scene doesn’t trigger, reload from your pre-siege save
- The specific dialogue option you choose does not matter — only the DEF and reaction speed do
- Common misconception: “refusing to let Nanami come with you earlier saves her.” This is false — only the Rockaxe DEF + reaction-speed conditions matter
Step 3 — Tenzan Pass duel with Jowy
- After the final boss, refuse the army leadership proposal at the great hall
- Go to Tenzan Pass; defend only — never attack; refuse the offered rune approximately 4 times
- Requires Conditions 1 AND 2 completed first; if Nanami’s flag wasn’t set, this loop never resolves

Setup: Recruit Badeaux first. Find him on the Forest Path to Matilda — your Castle must be at Level 3 and you need Shiro or Mukumuku in your active party. He hands you exactly two Listening Crystals (also called Runes of Mindfulness). You can recruit 2 of the 3 animal Stars.

Crystal traps — read carefully:
